Engineering Manager, DevOps

Our services span collectible coins, trading cards, video games, event tickets, autographs, and memorabilia through our subsidiaries, which include Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA), Professional Coin Grading Services (PCGS), Wata, Certified Coin Exchange (CCE), Collectors Corner, Set Registry, Collectors.com, and the Long Beach Expo collectibles trade show. We are looking for an Engineering Manager of DevOps to lead and build our IT DevOps team. The DevOps leader will manage the team, assign and monitor workflows, and maintain quality and efficiency. You will report to the Director of Engineering, Platform, in this role.  

Manage DevOps tools, pipeline automation, infrastructure landscape, and influence adoption across the enterprise. Manage the organization's Cloud accounts. 

Oversee software release management processes and focus on defining and executing OLAs and SLAs with internal teams. Work closely with QA Manager to ensure timing and quality releases into production. Be responsible for service monitoring, support, and problem management.

Provide clear verbal and written communication across various cross-functional teams. 

This is a Remote Position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the DevOps team. Provide coaching, guidance, training, and staff development.
  • Develop, define and document DevOps standards, best practices, governance, tools, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Work with the Information Security team to develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy for Cloud.
  • Lead On-Prem to AWS migration by evaluating existing services and partnering with other Engineering teams. Examples include publicly accessible websites with a SQL backend and On-Prem Kubernetes cluster.
  • Manage AWS system performance and monitor for anomalies with NewRelic and Cloudwatch.
  • Migrate On-Prem file server images, and manage and monitor AWS S3 usage.
  • Design, improve and implement build and release pipelines.
  • Manage organizational AWS accounts and resource sharing.
  • Manage and monitor AWS IAM usage and security.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, DBAs, and Software Engineering teams to solve problems.
  • Maintain high availability Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery infrastructure.
  • Work closely with the TPM supporting team deliverables, helping to remove roadblocks as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest Cloud technology trends.

Who You Are:

  • 5+ years experience with AWS
  • 10+ years in technology with 5+ years of managerial experience
  • Degree in a technical discipline or other disciplines with equivalent technical experience
  • AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in these AWS services: S3, VPC, RDS, OpenSearch, Cloudfront, Lambda, ELB, & ECS, EKS or Fargate.
  • Experience with “Infrastructure as Code” (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, AWS Cloudformation, AWS CDK.
  • Experience with containers, orchestration tools, and container management.
  • Experience with automation and scripting
  • Experience with Linux & Windows server OS
  • Experience with On-Prem infrastructure
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft .NET/IIS/SQL web hosting technology stack
  • Knowledge of DevOps process desirable
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity best practices
  • Collaborative team spirit and problem solving attitude
