We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working, and detail-oriented candidate to join the PSA Pop Culture team. PSA is seeking a comic and magazine grader to authenticate and grade comics (across eras), as well as press books for customers. Ideal candidates will possess comprehensive industry knowledge of comics and magazines, and be able to add experience and depth to PSA’s Grading Team. Individuals should be detail oriented, have good organization skills, and be able to focus on comics over long periods of time. Preferred applicants will have one to three years of grading experience as a professional, dealer or collector and the ability to work in a positive team environment. Preferred applicants will also have experience with pressing comic books and understand the relationship between pressing and grading.

You’ll report to the Director of Comic Grading and work from our Santa Ana, CA office. 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as an expert of PSA’s comic grading and authentication standards, as well as PSA’s processing procedures and protocols
  • Authenticate and evaluate the condition of comic books and magazines in an expedient manner but without compromising accuracy
  • Stay up-to-date with current industry development and news, especially as it pertains to counterfeits and alteration methods circulating the market
  • Maintain individual PSA grading production goals
  • Improve knowledge and skills with experience
  • Maintain quality of grading product
  • Share knowledge to help improve skill of PSA Grading Team
  • Support our pressing operation

Who You Are:

  • In depth knowledge of comic books and magazines
  • Comprehensive understanding of the comic book and magazine grading standards
  • 3 - 6+ years of direct grading experience as a professional, dealer, or collector
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong organization skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivity
  • Ability to work in a positive team environment
  • Detail oriented and ability to focus over long stretches of time
  • Ability to lift and/or carry trays with orders weighing up to 40 lbs

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $65,450 - $96,300. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
