We’re looking for a Learning Specialist to join our team. The Learning Specialist plays a crucial role in the professional development of individuals within the business environment. Learning Specialists craft and deliver training programs that aim to improve the performance and skills of their trainees. As a Learning Specialist, you will work directly with the Learning Lead and Learning Manager to help team members in effectively organizing, planning, creating and executing training projects. These projects include, but are not limited to, writing manuals, creating training content using Google Slides or Google Docs, conducting and delivering training sessions for various departments across the organization in a classroom style or one on one training session. It is essential for the Learning Specialist to adapt their approach to accommodate various learning styles while collaborating with the leadership team to ensure consistent content delivery. Achieving this requires a combination of strong interpersonal skills and specific organizational and presentation abilities.

This role reports to the Learning Manager in Santa Ana, CA and will work in the Jersey City office, in NJ from Monday to Friday during the AM shift.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist training in all key areas of the business, including Operations and non-operations that may have training needs. Training will be delivered to new workers, agency temps, and existing workers across the organization. 
  • Support onboarding by conducting Collectors Orientation for all new employees and agency temps. 
  • There is a focus on building annual programs and preparing teaching plans for areas such as safety and compliance for all employees and agency temps. 
    • The Learning Department is directly involved in promoting a Safety Culture and informing the workforce on safety topics.  
  • Communicate and collaborate with Collectors personnel from all departments, divisions and different levels of leadership.
  • Identify,  enhance, facilitate and conduct  training needs with the Learning Leadership’s guidance. 
    • Improve policies, procedures, and processes through all of Collectors Values, especially in Seeking Feedback Early and Often to recommend and implement optimal solutions.

Who You Are: 

  • B.S. or B.A. preferred; 1 or 2 years of experience in a training environment preferred.
  • Fluent in English with the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. 
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group settings to all levels of the organization.  
  • Spanish and/or Japanese fluency, and/or experience with formal writing or translating in Spanish/Japanese is a plus.
  • Attendance must be reliable, and you must be flexible to altering and/or changing your shift
  • Strong computer skills (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Slides, etc.).
  • Proven work experience training others.
  • Proven experience in designing training events in a corporate setting, including technical writing skills (writing manuals).
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in-classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.)
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and time management skills.

Hourly Range: 

The hourly range for this position is $20-$22 Entry level operations positions generally start at an hourly rate of $18. Actual compensation in this range will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, prior experience, and skill set.
